About the app

Music Player is a native Android application for playing locally stored audio, built in Kotlin around Android's MediaPlayer APIs with a foreground service so playback continues reliably while the app is backgrounded. It's built to feel like a proper standalone player rather than a stripped-down media widget — with real controls for how you listen, not just play/pause.

Planned features

Foreground playback service — music keeps playing when you switch apps or lock the screen, with a persistent notification for controls.
Equalizer — adjustable frequency bands to shape the sound to your headphones or speakers.
Sleep timer — set playback to stop automatically after a chosen duration.
Shake-to-skip — skip to the next track with a shake gesture, useful when your hands are busy.
Playlists & favourites — organize tracks into custom playlists and mark favourites for quick access.
AdMob integration — supported by non-intrusive ads placed away from playback controls.

Development status

The app is being built and tested against current Android API levels (targeting API 36), with the core player, service, and UI screens implemented and undergoing compatibility fixes ahead of a first public release. This page will be updated with screenshots and a Play Store link once the app is published.

Is Music Player available yet?

Will it require an internet connection?

No. Core playback is fully offline, working with music already stored on your device. An internet connection is only used to load ads.

Will it be free?

Yes, the plan is to release it as a free, ad-supported app, consistent with our other titles.
